Frequently asked
Frequently asked questions
Below are the questions we hear most often at the desk: about prices and payment, about booking and rescheduling, practical matters like parking and languages, and safety around laser treatments. If your question isn't here, call us or send a message.
Practical
Where exactly is Bella Rosa?
The salon is at Rozenlaan 123 in Amsterdam. It's about a three-minute walk from the nearest stop. There's paid parking nearby and bicycle racks directly outside. Full directions are on the contact page.
Can I park near the salon?
Paid parking applies in the immediate area until 21:00. There's a car park around a five-minute walk away that charges by the hour. If you come by bike you can leave it right outside. Public transport is often faster than driving, particularly at peak times.
Which languages can I be served in?
Our team speaks Dutch, English and Spanish. You can have your entire treatment carried out in English if that's easier for you. We publish all prices in English too, and you can complete an online booking in English.
Are you open on Sundays?
No, we're closed on Sundays. We're open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00, with evening slots until 20:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Saturdays we're open from 10:00 to 16:00. Online booking is available 24 hours a day, including outside opening hours.
Prices and payment
Are prices fixed, or can they vary?
The prices on our website are fixed and include VAT. Only for treatments marked "from" — such as balayage or laser — does the price depend on length, the amount of work or the area treated. In those cases you get a fixed quote during the consultation, so there's never a surprise on the bill.
Do prices include VAT?
Yes, every price you see on the website includes VAT (21%). For corporate clients we can issue an invoice with VAT specified. Ask when booking and we'll add your company details to our records.
How can I pay?
You can pay by card (contactless and chip), iDEAL or cash. For weddings and corporate events we issue an invoice. For longer courses such as laser series you can pay per treatment or for the whole series in one go.
What if I need to move my appointment?
Let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we'll move your appointment at no charge. For cancellations within 24 hours we charge 50% of the treatment price, because the reserved time can no longer be filled. Separate terms apply to laser series and weddings; we agree those upfront.
Booking
How do I book an appointment?
Use the "Book now" button on any page to build your appointment: treatment, specialist and your preferred date and part of the day. You'll see the price and how long it takes as you go, and you send the request in one tap by WhatsApp or email. You can do that 24 hours a day — including evenings and weekends. We confirm personally, usually within a couple of hours.
Will I get a confirmation?
You won't get an automatically generated email — you'll get a personal confirmation from us. We check your request and let you know whether that time works, or suggest an alternative. You'll usually hear back within a couple of hours, and always within one working day. We'll also send a reminder shortly before your appointment.
Can I walk in without an appointment?
Sometimes, but we don't recommend relying on it. Our diary fills up quickly and we work by appointment so every client gets the time a treatment actually needs. To be sure of a slot, send a request from this page or call us — we'll confirm personally whether it works.
What happens on a first visit?
On a first visit we always allow time for a short consultation. We discuss what you want, look at your hair or skin, and where relevant carry out an allergy test or test treatment. You don't need to bring anything. For colour treatments the patch test must happen at least 48 hours beforehand, so plan for that.
Safety and health
Is laser hair removal safe?
Laser hair removal is an established technique with a long safety record when performed by a trained specialist. With us you always have a consultation first, we carry out a test treatment on a small area, and we calibrate wavelength and energy to your skin type and tone. Temporary redness is normal and usually settles within a few hours.
May a beautician perform laser treatments in the Netherlands?
Yes. Laser and IPL treatments are not reserved procedures under the Dutch Wet BIG, so a beautician may perform them. The Care Sector Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz) does apply, and the practitioner must be demonstrably competent. We may not administer botox or filler injections — that is a reserved procedure.
Can I have treatments while pregnant?
Gel polish, cutting and styling are generally fine. For colour, many clients choose to wait until after the first trimester, or opt for highlights or balayage where the product touches the scalp less. We postpone laser treatments until after pregnancy and breastfeeding, because hormones affect hair growth and make the result unpredictable.
I have an allergy or sensitive skin. Can I still come?
Tell us when booking and we'll adapt. We work with several brands and in most cases can choose a product free of the substance you react to. For colour treatments we always carry out a patch test 48 hours beforehand, including if you've been to us before but we've changed product.
