Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal reduces unwanted hair growth using concentrated light that targets the hair follicle. At Bella Rosa treatments start at €60 and take 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area. You always begin with a free consultation.

How does laser hair removal work?

The device emits light that is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted into heat. That heat damages the follicle, so the hair returns more slowly. Because only actively growing hairs respond, one session is never enough: you'll usually need six to eight, spaced four to eight weeks apart. After a full course, the majority of our clients see a clear and lasting reduction in hair growth. Exactly how much varies from person to person and depends on hair colour, skin tone, hormones and the area treated. We can never guarantee the outcome in advance — during the consultation we agree a realistic expectation instead.

Preparation and aftercare

Before treatment, shave the area 24 hours beforehand. Hairs need to be visible in the follicle but not protruding above the skin — waxing, epilating and plucking are not allowed in the four weeks before, because the follicle won't be present and the treatment won't work. Avoid tanning and sunbeds for two weeks prior. After treatment the skin may feel red and warm, similar to mild sunburn; this usually settles within a few hours. For the first week avoid scrubs, perfume and hot baths, and apply a high-factor sunscreen daily. Between sessions you may shave, but not wax.

Frequently asked questions

Is laser hair removal painful?

Most clients describe the sensation as a brief, warm snap — comparable to a rubber band flicking the skin. Sensitive areas such as the bikini line are felt more intensely. Our equipment has a cooling system that chills the skin before, during and after each pulse. You won't need any numbing cream.

How many treatments do I need?

Usually six to eight treatments, spaced four to eight weeks apart. That's because only actively growing hairs respond, and not all hairs are in the same phase at once. At the consultation we'll give you an indication for your specific situation.

Does laser work on darker skin tones?

Yes, but the settings must be adjusted. Darker skin contains more pigment itself, which raises the risk of overheating. We calibrate wavelength and energy per person and always begin with a test treatment. Our specialists are trained for this.
